Steel flanges

Flat welded flanges by their design and purpose are the simplest, they are flat rings welded to the edge of the shell or pipe along its perimeter. These flanges are put on the pipe and welded in a circle. Along the edges of the flange there are holes that serve to connect the flange to the valve by means of bolts and studs.

A flat flange, depending on the operating conditions, can be made of steel grades st.20, 09G2S or 12X18H10T for nominal diameters from 15 to 1200 mm (DN15 ... more than 2.5 MPa. The environment is not aggressive, the temperature of the working environment is from -40 ° C to 300 ° C.

Flat welded flanges are made of:

  • closed die stamping of flanges,
  • forging on a backing ring (stamping),
  • centrifugal electroslag casting (TsEShL),
  • production from rolled rings (forgings),
  • plasma (laser or gas) cutting from a sheet.

Flat welded flanges are tested for tensile strength, yield strength and impact strength, mechanical properties are determined that comply with the standard.

The products comply with the requirements of the technical regulations of the Customs Union of the EAEU TR CU 032/2013. The products are supplied with quality certificates.

The warranty period for butt weld steel flanges is 24 months.

Steel flanges according to DIN EN 1092-1 are manufactured according to European standards established by the German Institute for Standardization (DIN - Deutsches Institut für Normung) and the European Committee for Standardization (EN - European Committee for Standardization).

The DIN EN 1092-1 standard specifies the requirements for flanges and their connections for pipes, valves, fittings, etc., designed for a pressure of PN 2.5–40.0 MPa and a nominal diameter of DN 10–4000 mm. The standard specifies types, sizes, materials, tolerances, threads, surface treatments, flange markings, weights, bolt sizes and pressure versus temperature.

Structurally, steel flanges according to DIN EN 1092-1 are similar to flanges according to domestic standards and have the same types of sealing surfaces, however, there are some differences in the geometric dimensions of the products. The ranges of permissible pressures for different diameters also differ. The dimensions of the sealing surfaces, as well as the height of the protrusion, the diameter, and the depth of the cavity, are not identical to domestic standards. Therefore, the EN 1092-1 flange does not have an analogue of GOST.

The ring billet plant produces steel flanges DIN EN 1092-1 type 01 flat welded flange and 11 welded flange, nominal diameter from DN 400 to DN 1400 and pressure from PN 2.5 to PN 25.0 MPa from various steel grades. It is also possible to design and manufacture transitional and non-standard flanges according to your drawings and in accordance with technical requirements.

Flanges are tested for tensile strength, yield strength and impact strength, and mechanical properties are determined. The products comply with the requirements of the technical regulations of the Customs Union of the EAEU TR CU 032/2013, supplied with quality certificates.

The warranty period for flanges is 24 months.

It is possible to buy or find out the price for steel flanges according to DIN EN 1092-1 at the Ring Billet Plant.

During operation, the flanges withstand the maximum load, ensuring the stable operation of pipeline assemblies and oil and gas equipment in the chemical, petrochemical and related industries under conditions of static and repeated static loads, high pressure, negative and high temperatures. Therefore, the requirements for the quality of the steel billet of flanges are increased, quality control is carried out at all stages: preparation of materials, manufacturing of semi-finished products, control of the chemical composition, heat treatment, control of metal continuity by ultrasonic flaw detection, as well as testing the hardness and mechanical properties of products in the central factory laboratory (TsZL ) Plant of ring blanks.

The main methods for obtaining a flange blank are:

  • stamping of flanges in closed dies;
  • forging on a backing ring (stamping);
  • centrifugal electroslag casting (TsEShL);
  • production from rolled rings, forgings;
  • plasma or flame cutting from a sheet.

The use of the above methods makes it possible to obtain high-quality blanks of flanges from carbon, alloy, heat-resistant and stainless steel grades:

  • weighing up to 2000 kg;
  • inner diameter from 150 mm to 2000 mm;
  • outside diameters from 240 mm to 2300 mm.
  • with quality control according to group IV GOST 8479-70, GOST 25054-81.

A flange is a part of a pipeline, which is a metal ring with holes for fasteners, used to connect pipelines to various vessels and devices, containers, as well as to connect shut-off valves. Flanges are the most common type of fittings in process pipelines that require disassembly, cleaning and repair during operation. The flanges are connected by studs with two nuts and sealed with a metal ring clamped between the flanges. The flanges are grooved to accommodate the O-ring.

There are two types of flanges: Valve flanges and vessel and apparatus flanges. These two types of flanges differ in their intended purpose and field of application.

The first type of flanges is intended mainly for laying, operating, repairing, constructing large and small pipelines, from utility pipelines to main pipelines of pipeline transport.

The second type of flanges is intended for use in the installation, repair, design, and operation of oil distillation columns, heat exchange equipment, and storage tanks.

Fastening of flanges to the connected parts of the pipelines, as a rule, is carried out by welding. After welding, the weld must be heat-treated, since the resulting internal stresses and changes in the crystal lattice must be brought to a normalized state. Otherwise, these adverse factors will adversely affect the performance of flanges and flange connections.

Working medium: steam, water, natural gas, oil products, flange connections for chemically active media, for high pressure pipelines, for high and low operating temperatures.

Transportation of pipeline parts can be carried out by any type of transport in accordance with the transportation rules for this type of transport. Transportation and storage conditions Zh 1 according to GOST 15150-69. For transportation, flanges are packed in containers in accordance with GOST 2991-76 and GOST 10198-78. The packaging protects the flanges from damage during transportation and storage.

Flanges, except for those made of corrosion-resistant steels and alloys, are coated with PVCK grease in accordance with GOST 19537-74 or another grease of appropriate quality. Other methods of surface protection against atmospheric corrosion are permitted.

The period of validity of temporary anti-corrosion protection without re-preservation is 3 years.

It is possible to buy or find out the price for steel flanges in the sales department of the Ring Billet Plant.
